Our Lady of Mount Carmel has an opening for Director of Youth and Young adult ministry.
OLMC utilizes the Edge and Life Teen models of relational ministry with an active high school program of catechesis and evangelization. The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry will oversee the recruitment and formation of Edge and Life Teen CORE teams, oversee the regular Edge and Life Teen formation programs, retreats and evangelization, as well as the integrated Confirmation program in the 10th grade year. Our Life Teen program is an expansive and comprehensive youth ministry program with a fantastic CORE team, great parish support, and a parish staff that prays, works, and laughs together well.
The Young Adult program is also coordinated by the Director, with oversight of the young adults who coordinate those efforts in the parish. The YA ministry is generally self-sustaining and only needs minimal oversight.
The candidate should have at least 3 years experience in youth ministry, either paid or volunteer, enjoy working on a parish staff who are collegial and team-based in their evangelization efforts, have a pulse on current successes in the evangelization of youth, and work well with parents and other parishioners. Support of the middle school youth in our parish school is also important. Conversational Spanish helpful but not required.
