Physical Education Teacher (Female) - Grades 9-12 2026-2027 School Year
St. John's Preparatory School seeks an inspiring, enthusiastic, and engaging female Physical Education teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting lifelong health and wellness while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, confidence, and character development in young women. St. John's Prep provides a comprehensive Health & Wellness program and instills in students the knowledge and habits necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle for life.
Responsibilities - Teach Physical Education classes to students in grades 9-12 (female sections) - Instruct courses including, but not limited to, team sports, fitness training, weight training, strength and conditioning, health concepts, and nutrition - Collaborate in the continued development of a vertically aligned Physical Education and Health & Wellness curriculum - Promote student growth through structured skill development, physical fitness assessment, and character formation - Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment - Build and sustain strong relationships with students, faculty, and families - Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress - Participate actively in school life, professional development, and faculty initiatives - Coach at least one interscholastic athletic team (required)
Qualifications - NYS Certification in Physical Education (required or in progress) - Bachelor's degree in physical education or related field (Master's preferred) - Commitment to the mission of Catholic education - Willingness and ability to coach high school athletics (required) - Prior coaching experience preferred
