    Description

The College of St. Joseph the Worker in Steubenville, Ohio is looking to hire a full-time professor of literature. The position will begin in August 2026. Courses taught will include the College's two required literature courses: ENG201 Ancient and Medieval; ENG202 Modern. In addition, the professor of literature will teach upper-division elective courses, including in his area of specialization. The ideal candidate will have demonstrably wide-ranging interests and expertise. This is an open rank hire. The position requires a terminal degree, though the College will consider ABDs if completion of the degree is imminent. Teaching load will vary depending on rank. Full professors normally teach a 2-3-2 (the college operates on a quarter calendar, Sept-June), with summers completely off. Salary is highly competitive.

Please send a cover letter and CV to [email protected] by December 31st 2025. More materials will be requested on a case-by-case basis.
