The Marian Center and School in Miami, Florida is seeking a full-time Director of Development to lead and implement all aspects of the organization's fundraising efforts. The Director of Development is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive development plan to support the Marian Center's mission of educating, empowering, and nurturing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a faith-based environment. This individual will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, faculty, staff, families, and benefactors to advance the Marian Center's vision and ensure its long-term sustainability.
Primary Duties and Functions: • Develop and execute annual and long-term fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, special events, and grant opportunities. • Cultivate and steward strong relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and corporate partners. • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Board members, and volunteers to identify, solicit, and secure philanthropic support. • Oversee donor communications, including appeals, acknowledgments, stewardship reports, and impact materials. • Coordinate and execute fundraising events and campaigns that raise both funds and awareness for the Marian Center. • Manage donor database and development systems to track contributions, pledges, and stewardship activities accurately. • Provide regular fundraising progress reports and revenue forecasts to leadership and the Board of Directors. • Represent the Marian Center in the community to build visibility and strengthen partnerships.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred. • Professional experience in nonprofit development preferred, including knowledge of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship best practices. • Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate the Marian Center's mission with passion and clarity. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, staff, volunteers, and benefactors. • Supportive and respectful of the mission and values of the Roman Catholic Church • Professional demeanor, discretion, and high ethical standards required.
