Job Summary:
The Development and Outreach Assistant serves the mission of COLFS by assisting with the accomplishment of departmental objectives pertaining to fundraising, relationship-building, communications, and educational outreach. The Development and Outreach Assistant provides administrative assistance pertaining to fundraising events and initiatives. In addition, this role supports departmental communications and promotions via email, telephone, and digital media. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and relationship-building skills, the ability to communicate in English and Spanish, and a wholehearted acceptance and promotion of COLFS's mission and a personal commitment to upholding the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising
-Provides administrative assistance for fundraising events and initiatives. -Assists with planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events. -Assists with documentation of information pertaining to these events, e.g., third-party personnel, volunteers, financial details, and event logistics.
Donors/Donations
-Assists with preparing and sending emails and letters to donors. -Contacts donors and prospective donors via email and telephone to assist with gathering information or answering questions. -Utilizes eTapestry to record donations and donor information. -Assists with donor communications, events, or meetings as needed.
Communications
-Communicates with other staff members and Director regularly and effectively. -Uses email and telephone to assist with coordination and promotion of COLFS presentations and events with parishes, schools, and other organizations. -Assists with the communication of information to outreach program participants and volunteers, e.g., via email, telephone, social media, etc. -Assists with content creation for use in COLFS digital media outreach, newsletters, emails, and website editing and updates.
Outreach
-Maintains presence in COLFS Ministry Office to assist guests or outreach program participants. -Assists with the documentation of inventory, supplies, and the organization of the COLFS Ministry Office. -Ability to assist with presentations to groups of various ages on topics pertaining to the COLFS mission such as the pro-life movement, natural law, and the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, and/or Liberal Arts, Theology, preferably from a Catholic institution. -1-3 years of experience with office administrative assistance, mission-centered marketing, and/or Catholic education or ministry. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with CRM software, e.g., eTapestry. -Experience with digital media management and implementation strategies. -Availability Monday-Friday and as needed on evenings and weekends. -This position is ultimately envisioned as a full-time role, however, initially it may begin as a part-time position depending on various factors. -Compensation is $22-$25 hourly. -Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
