The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school students in accordance with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in Earth Science aligned with NYSSLS. • Create a classroom environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and spiritual development of students. • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on labs, technology integration, and inquiry-based learning. • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide timely and constructive feedback. • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration. • Incorporate Catholic values and the school's mission into daily classroom interactions. • Participate in department meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide activities. Qualifications: • Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Earth Science (Grades 7-12) required. • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or related field (Master's degree preferred). • Demonstrated knowledge of NYSSLS and best practices in science instruction. • Ability to teach Earth Science effectively. • Commitment to fostering a positive, faith-based learning environment. • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. • Prior high school teaching experience preferred.
