Canterbury Pilgrimages is seeking a motivated, service-oriented Catholic Pilgrimage Consultant to grow and manage relationships with Catholic churches, clergy, and affiliated groups. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sales, client relations, and travel planning who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities • Sales & Client Acquisition • Proactively generate new business through cold calls, direct outreach, and follow-up on inbound leads. • Promote and sell Canterbury's pilgrimages, tours, and related services to Catholic parishes and groups. • Maintain a strong pipeline by consistently identifying and developing prospective clients.
Account Management • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients throughout the entire sales cycle-from initial contact through tour completion. • Collaborate with the Operations Department post-sale to ensure a seamless tour experience. • Engage in follow-up marketing and relationship development for future tours.
Communication • Maintain regular contact with active and prospective clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings. • Record all outreach and client data in the CRM system, keeping detailed notes on cold, warm, and active leads. • Achieve or exceed call and conversion benchmarks as communicated by the department lead.
Professional Development & Representation • Develop deep knowledge of Canterbury's offerings and the broader Catholic travel market. • Attend conferences, trade shows, and other events to represent the company and generate new leads. • Collaborate on new marketing ideas and product development initiatives. • Travel as needed to close sales and support client relationships.
Qualifications Required: • 1-3 years of progressive sales experience, ideally in the travel or faith-based industries • Exceptional communication and presentation skills-both on the phone and in-person • Highly organized with strong time-management and multi-tasking abilities • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and general computer software • Ability to build authentic, trust-based relationships across all levels of clients and team members • A strong work ethic, drive for results, and willingness to "do what it takes"
Preferred: • Bachelor's degree • Background in religious or non-profit sales, or experience working with Catholic institutions • Familiarity with Catholic culture, practices, and community structure
