Campus Minister

The mission of DePaul Cristo Rey High School is to prepare and guide students to become high school and college graduates who flourish. Our Catholic, college preparatory curriculum and innovative work study program combine to form young women and men of integrity, faith, tenacity and purpose. The Campus Minister plays an integral role in this mission. Encouraging and guiding all members to contribute to the Catholic identity. In collaboration with all the Campus Minister brings to life a campus rich in the school's charism. Preparing our students to become leaders in service.

Essential skills/functions:
Understands, embraces and implements the school's Catholic mission and philosophy as written in the Mission Effectiveness Standards, participates in the Christ-centered life of the school; and models the school's philosophy in working with students, parents, colleagues and administration.
Maintain confidentiality with sensitive staff and student data.
Regular communication with school personnel in regards to campus ministry activities through weekly newsletter.
Facilitates an atmosphere of Christian hospitality where all feel welcome, based on Catholic faith traditions and rituals. Acknowledges and celebrates diversity within the school community.
Core work:

Forming a Faith Community: Works collaboratively to develop faith centered programing that enrich and nourish the spiritual life of the DPCR.

Discipleship and Retreats: Organizes, plans and implements an effective retreat program for students, parents and employees that contributes to community building, faith development, evangelization and leadership enrichment.

Prayer and Sacramental Experiences: Organization and development or prayer experiences and coordinates liturgical and other sacramental celebrations

Service and Social Consciousness: Empowers work for justice and service. Infuses the concepts of justice, peace, human dignity, and the integrity of creation into all aspects of ministry
Job Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity in Theology, Discipleship in Church Ministry or other related field preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
A practicing Catholic with educational experience in Catholic Schools or a practicing Catholic with educational experience with other Church-related ministries.
Maintain Ohio Department of Education certificate and or license in subject area to teach religion.
Three years of instructional experience in Religion, Campus/Church Ministry with high school students.
Three years of experience working with young people and families of under-resourced communities.
Demonstrated experience supporting diversity, equity and inclusion.
Preferred experience:
Bi-lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred

Student Supervision/Interaction:
Adhere to the Decree on Child Protection requirements.
Complete monthly required Bulletin trainings per VIRTUS Child Protection standards.
All employees must consider themselves supervisors of students at all times.
