A 5th-grade teacher in a Catholic elementary school plays a vital role in shaping young minds and hearts. Academic Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum (NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and diocesan Religious Education standards). Foster a love of learning in core subjects like reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies. Implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes active participation and critical thinking. Regularly assess student progress through various assessments, assignments, and observations to monitor growth and adapt instruction accordingly.
Catholic Faith Formation: Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities. Lead students in prayer, participate in school liturgies, and provide age-appropriate religious instruction. Foster a Christ-centered environment that encourages spiritual growth and moral development.
Classroom Management and Student Development: Establish clear expectations and positive classroom management strategies to maximize learning time. Qualifications: Master's degree in Elementary Education or a related field Valid NYS teaching certification Strong understanding of the Catholic faith and a commitment to its teachings.
