Coordinates and facilitates Family Catechesis programming for Pre-school - 5th grade, Vacation Bible School, and Family Catechesis for 8th graders seeking Confirmation. This includes Sacramental preparation for First Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation Collaborates with the Pastor, Director of Parish Catechesis, and Director of Youth Evangelization and Catechesis in discerning the vision for family catechesis and the curriculum used. Collaborates with the Director of Youth Evangelization and Catechesis regarding Confirmation candidate's dual participation in youth group, and the Confirmation retreat. Develops the schedule of family catechesis sessions and scope and sequence of the curriculum. Collaborates with the Pastor and Director of Sacred Music/Liturgical Coordinator in preparing the liturgies for First Holy Communion and Confirmation Masses. Coordinates the recruitment and training of catechists and aides for family catechesis. Coordinates and prepares the materials needed for each catechetical session, including parent sessions. Collects and organizes all required documents to be given to the Sacramental Archivist for sacramental recording. Prints Sacramental Certificates. Communicates with the parents and catechists regarding weekly sessions: reminders, announcements, instructions for catechists. Schedules catechists including substitutes. Develops relationships with support volunteers to serve as substitutes or to help with program needs. Manages registration for family catechesis and Vacation Bible School, working with Communication Director regarding promotion. Participates in staff meetings, keeping the staff up to date on family catechesis events placed in the parish calendar.
