Adult Faith Formation Coordinator Epiphany Parish Sun Prairie Wisconsin Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time Reports to: Director of Faith Formation Job Description Summary: This position offers the opportunity to implement and bring to life Epiphany Parish's commitment to Catechesis, Evangelization and Discipleship with the focus on adults in a comprehensive manner. This includes the following elements: catechesis, social action, community building, spirituality, liturgy, leadership, advocacy and OCIA. Essential Job Duties: • Collaborates with Faith Formation team, staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish. • Coordinates Evangelization and Discipleship efforts for the parish in Adult Formation using Go Make Disciples from the Diocese of Madison and Bishop Hying as the foundation. • Assures the development and implementation of programs, experiences and activities for adults that foster spiritual formation and growth, focusing on discipleship. This should include but not be limited to retreats, faith formation, social activities, community building, service opportunities, prayer, study and worship. • Coordinates OCIA along with team and volunteers • Recruits, trains, directs and supervises catechists, volunteers and other personnel for faith formation experiences. Collaborates with others to offer and support small groups of all kinds. • Coordinates efforts to identify and involve adults in the life of Epiphany Parish community. • Serves as staff liaison to a parish core team or council • Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this ministry through regular updating, reading, participation in workshops and conventions. Participate in local, regional, and national professional organizations as approved and appropriate.
Required Education and Experience Experience in event planning and coordinating, communication tools and working understanding of Catholic theology, Ecclesiology and Sacramental theology.
Preferred Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Required Competencies • Demonstrated understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church's teaching, mission and values. • Catholic in good standing • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently, including developing and maintaining effective record keeping systems.
