Job opening: Youth Minister/Coordinator of 6-10
Position: Full time, hours vary day to day and week to week
Immaculate Conception and St. Patrick are searching for a Full Time Youth Minister. We are growing parishes with a Catholic school in New Richmond, WI near St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN area. We are seeking someone who is passionate in his/her faith and enthusiastically committed to Youth Ministry, outreach, and leadership and is willing to serve as a spiritual leader and role model to the youth and young adults. Duties of Youth Minister include but are not limited to:
• Working with the Director of Religious Education, develop, plan and support our two youth groups, PULSE, Grades 6-8 and Ignite, Grades 9-12 youth.
• Develop a "strategic youth ministry outreach plan" to effectively reach youth in the parish. The plan should include: group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach.
• Act as the adult supervisor of youth and volunteers.
• Learn and stay current with safety awareness and training.
• Attend workshops and in-service events as assigned by your supervisor.
• Our programs welcome youth from outside of our parish and you will be responsible for them as well.
• Attend Youth camps during the summer, acting as the adult leader of youth and volunteers.
• Coordinate catechesis for grades 6-9 and Confirmation
Required Skills:
This person needs to be wiling to work towards or already posses advanced level religious certification from the Diocese of Superior and either have or be willing to work towards Youth Ministry certification.
Having worked on NET Team, Totus Tuus Team member, Extreme Faith Camp Leader, or another related area is preferred but not necessary. The Youth Minister must be living in full sacramental communion with the Catholic Church.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
