JOB TITLE: Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation
DEPARTMENT: Evangelization and Catechesis
REPORTS TO: Pastor or his representative
HOURS: Full-Time, including some evenings and weekends.
(About 65% St. Mary's / 35% St. Raymond's)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
To build up, coordinate and lead the parishes' employees and teams into effective evangelization, especially the programs of Family Faith Formation, sacramental preparation, catechesis, and mystagogy.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Baptismal Preparation: Build and maintain leadership and team(s) to accompany families preparing for baptism and to ensure a seamless process for all concerned.
Confirmation Preparation: Build and maintain leadership and team(s) that will accompany families and teens preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Family Faith Formation: Ensure vibrant and well-run Family Faith Formation programs at both parishes (hiring, training, and supervising a part-time coordinator as needed). This includes Spanish-language programming for parents who primarily speak Spanish.
Marriage Preparation: Ensure meaningful accompaniment of engaged couples preparing for the Sacrament of marriage and smoothly run wedding events (hiring, training, and supervising a part-time coordinator as needed).
RCIA: Build and maintain leadership and teams to provide a relevant and effective RCIA process for the two parishes.
RCIC: Build and maintain leadership and teams to provide a relevant and effective RCIC process for families in the two parishes.
Middle School: Build and maintain leadership and teams that provide effective ministry to the needs of middle school students and their parents.
Youth Group: Build and maintain leadership and teams for a vibrant youth group.
Evangelization: Build and maintain leadership and teams capable of effective evangelization.
Hispanic Ministry: Ensure that staff, volunteers, and programming are coordinated with the Hispanic ministry efforts of both parishes in a manner that respects cultural differences while fostering unity of mission within the parishes. This may include availability for Spanish-language office hours on Sunday afternoons (Noon-3pm) during 20 Sundays per year.
Administrative Duties: Recruiting, hiring, training, onboarding, and holding accountable direct reports and teams; planning, budgeting, and prioritizing needs with staffing, funding, and volunteering.
Other Duties: May assist at reception desk, lock and unlock building, and carry out other duties assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the parishes.
Redundancy and Succession Planning: Recruit and train others as backup in each of the above duties in a way that provides redundancy and more options in the succession planning of the parishes.
DIRECT REPORTS:
Faith Formation Coordinator(s) for the two parishes
Hispanic Faith Formation Coordinator
Marriage Preparation Coordinator for the two parishes
Leadership of each team: RCIA, RCIC, Baptismal Preparation, Confirmation, Middle School ministry, youth group, evangelization team(s), etc.
REGULAR COLLABORATION:
Standing meeting with Pastor (Direct Report)
Standing Director meetings / check-ins
Regular collaboration with St. Mary's Elementary and the broader Regis Catholic Schools system.
Regular collaboration with Hispanic ministry leadership.
Provide monthly messaging to each parish in collaboration with the Communication Coordinator.
Meet at least monthly with each of the other Directors (Director of Pastoral Ministry; Director of Finance, Buildings and Grounds; Director of Music and Liturgy).
Weekly communication of pertinent information to the other Directors / respectful and accountable peer relationship with the other Directors
May serve on the Leadership Team and attend those meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities, with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift and carry twenty-pound parcels and/or boxes.
Ability to go up and down stairs.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Familiarity and conformity with the policies of the Diocese of La Crosse.
