Director of Product Innovation and Sales
GENERAL INTRODUCTION:
Sacred Story Institute (SSI), a Catholic Non-Profit, creates life-changing spiritual formation resources based on St. Ignatius' Conscience Examen in a format pioneered by SSI's founder and president, Fr. William M. Watson, S.J., called Sacred Story Prayer, taught in the Forty Weeks program. SSI's mission is both pastoral and analytical: bringing others closer to Christ, the Divine Physician, who heals us in mind, body, and spirit. We provide authentic tools for spiritual growth and healing, as well as research the impact of prayer and sacramental reconciliation on the body, mind, and spirit.
The Sacred Story Institute seeks a highly motivated and competent team member who is capable of expertly managing the day-to-day essential tasks to make the work of Sacred Story Institute run smoothly; along with the ability to work independently as well as in close partnership with the President and other team members
Job Description: Director of Product Innovation and Sales at a Catholic Organization
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Product Innovation and Sales to join Sacred Story Institute. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing development and implementation of SSI's innovative products and services that align with our mission and values and ensuring seamless integration across our various programs and initiatives. The main goal for this position is to drive outreach and sales of our life-changing programs and courses to parishes, dioceses, schools and faith communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Innovation:
Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that highlights the main areas for Product development, upgrading and rollout that aligns with the organization's mission and goals. In particular, the development of online courses based on SSI's online programs and our website.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for innovative product development, considering market trends, emerging technologies, and user needs. In particular, processing feedback from users to improve both product and marketing and staying abreast of new technological opportunities for product enhancements.
Conduct research, gather user feedback, and analyze data to inform product innovation and enhancement. In particular, compare/contrast the product/platforms of SSI with other comparable Catholic nonprofits.
Collaborate with SSI team and board members and a wide range of stakeholders to generate ideas, prototypes, and business cases for new products and enhancements.
Product Development and Sales
Develop a comprehensive sales plan for SSI's courses and programs that is renewed on an annual basis and includes key performance indicators related to multiple sales channels
Familiarity with Application (app) development (iOS & Android) to market SSI programs and courses. Determine if SSI should develop its own app or collaborate with other platforms such as Hallow.
Collaborate with the President in leading the end-to-end product research and development process, from ideation and concept design to product launch and post-launch evaluation.
Define product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps, ensuring they advance SSI's strategic objectives.
Oversee the creation of course prototypes, wireframes, and user experience designs in collaboration with the president.
Monitor product performance, collect user feedback, and iterate on all SSI products (books, programs and online courses).
Manage product lifecycle, including pricing, packaging, and positioning strategies.
Integration and Collaboration:
Foster collaboration and synergy across various programs and products to ensure effective integration of products and services on SSI's various platforms.
Bring the latest insights in marketing, communications, and technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, to better align strategies and optimize product integration, sales and profit margins.
Collaborate with external stakeholders (Catholic Dioceses and parishes) to understand their needs and integrate their input into product development and implementation processes.
Develop effective marketing incentives for parishes and dioceses to purchase SSI's programs and courses.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and Catholic communities to explore collaboration opportunities and enhance product offerings.
Develop and implement a delivery tracking system that identifies and tracks product roll-out, uptake and revenue.
Maintain a client relationship management system that lists main customers for SSI products & courses, the stage of the relationship, prospects for future demand and overall satisfaction with SSI delivery.
Collect user feedback for all programs and courses to be utilized in marketing and sales.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in product management, innovation, or a related role, preferably within the nonprofit or Catholic sector.
Strong understanding of product development processes, from ideation to launch and post-launch evaluation.
Ability to utilize Qualtrics for for product development with data collection and analysis
Experience in data analysis and visualization is a plus
Ability to quickly analyze SSI programs and courses, understand both our product and position in the Catholic evangelization market build user
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into innovative product strategies.
Expert at marketing to advance the reach of SSI products, programs and courses and for driving profit
Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Knowledge and understanding of Catholic values, principles, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of the Ignatian/Jesuit mission of the organization and its programs and products is essential for success in this position.
Knowledge and understanding of Catholic institutional systems and programs is a plus
