St. John the Baptist is looking for a dynamic, faith-filled individual or individuals whose talents are in working with 5th - 12th grade youth. This job could be a full-time position or two part-time positions. This/these person(s) would implement comprehensive youth programs which include the following elements: catechesis, evangelization, social justice/action, community building, spirituality, liturgy, guidance empowerment and advocacy. This/these person(s) would collaborate with the pastoral leader, staff, and consultative bodies to carry out the mission of the parish.
The youth minister(s) would implement programs that include but are not limited to retreats, formation of faith, community building activities, a variety of prayer forms, youth oriented liturgies, and service opportunities. The youth minister would implement sacramental preparation for youth in this age group.
This/these persons would recruit, empower, direct, train and supervise volunteers to implement and support these programs. This/these persons would take an active role in the parish to work at engaging all 5th through 12th grade students in the parish. In administering this ministry, this/these persons would take care of administrative tasks including budgeting, ordering materials, facility scheduling, and communication.
