Preschool Aid

St. Monica Catholic School is looking to fill two classroom aide positions in the Early Learning Center, located on the beautiful Mercer Island. Easy access via I-90, St. Monica sits just 6 minutes from the free way exit.

Our two classrooms are a balance of child directed center time and high academic achievement. The purpose of the Pre-k Para Educator is to assist the lead classroom teacher in the supervision of 10-20 students and be a contributing member of the PreK Team. He/she needs to provide a calm but stimulating learning environment for children ages 3-5 years old. It is important to treat all children, parents, and staff with respect and dignity.

Class dismissal is at 3:00, and remaining students transition to After School Care at 3:15. While most of our students go home at 3:00, we do have several who stay for the extended day. During ASC hours students play, eat snack, and have more recess.
Duties Include:
- Clean and sanitize tables after transition periods
- To monitor outside recess with all students
- To monitor indoor classroom activities
- Log in attendance
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and safety at all times
- Maintain clean and organized storage closets
- Participate in prayer, Mass, and all other religious activities the
school supports

Pre-K Para Educator hours are M-F 8:00-4:30 with students ages 3-4 years old and M-F 10:00-5:30 with students ages 3-8 years old. Hours extending the Pre-K day will be in the ASC program with similar duties, including sanitizing tables and chairs before the end of the day.
