We have an excellent opportunity available for a Service Office Assistant/Claims Processor in our Washington, D.C. service office. The person in this position will provide claim intake processing utilizing our claims procedure manual and advise the Claims/Risk Manager of any potential risk problems. Will also provide administrative and clerical support to the Claims/Risk Manager. Duties include answering incoming calls, processing mail, copying/scanning documents, preparing reports and letters, and drafting certificates of coverage in a timely and accurate manner. This person will also maintain an accurate calendar and record a diary system for all risk management inspections and claims.
Requirements of this position include a high school degree and at least two years' experience in a property and casualty insurance. Requires letter writing and computer skills including Microsoft Office, attention to detail and accuracy, excellent phone etiquette, and organizational skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work well independently is a must.
