Qualifications • College Degree • High school teaching or student-teaching experience is preferred • VA teaching license or willing to get a provisional license Pay • Salary starts at $30,000 with increases based on experience and degrees. Job Responsibilities • Qualified and experienced to teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry if needed. • Create engaging lessons that correlate to the math curriculum. • Provide support to students to maximize their learning goals. • Encourage study, research, and project-based learning to increase subject mastery in the classroom. • Select grade-appropriate readings and assign coursework that will aid in preparing students for college. • Engage in teaching best practices designed to empower students across various learning styles. • Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and other educational professionals to improve curriculum and help students reach their potential. • Utilize research-guided classroom management strategies to maximize paraprofessional resources to support student learning and ensure a safe and supportive classroom setting. • Communicate regularly with parents. • Craft assessments, assignments, and post grades at least once a week.
