We are seeking a dynamic science instructor who has a passion for teaching students in a small private school setting.
Qualifications • College Degree (Masters or higher preferred) • High school teaching or student-teaching experience is preferred • VA teaching license or willing to get a provisional license Pay • Salary starts at $40,000 with increases based on experience and degrees. Job Responsibilities • Teach all science courses in a small private school: Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics • Create engaging lessons that correlate to the curriculum. • Provide support to students to maximize their learning goals. • Encourage study, research, and project-based learning to increase subject mastery in the classroom. • Select grade-appropriate readings and assign coursework that will aid in preparing students for college. • Engage in teaching best practices designed to empower students across various learning styles. • Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and other educational professionals to improve curriculum and help students reach their potential. • Utilize research-guided classroom management strategies to maximize paraprofessional resources to support student learning and ensure a safe and supportive classroom setting. • Communicate regularly with parents. • Craft assessments, assignments, and post grades at least once a week.
