The Extended Day Director oversees the extended day program to ensure that it follows diocesan and licensing requirements.
Experience working in a child care setting.
An interest working with children in a Catholic school environment.
Complete CPR, First Aid Training, and MAT Certification before school starts in August.
Completed background check including fingerprinting.
Completed VIRTUS seminar within 45 days of employment.
Administrative tasks include:
Establishes a faith-filled, positive, structured and flexible extended day experience.
Develops the behavior management guidelines for the Extended Day program.
Ensures that licensing requirements of the program are met.
Maintains credentials of employment (code of conduct, background checks, CPR, training, etc.) for self and staff.
Supervises Extended Day Care staff.
Conducts staff training to ensure that teachers are familiar with licensing requirements and makes certain that staff is familiar with and adheres to school policies in all areas of the program operation.
Is prepared to implement the school's emergency procedures and protocols.
Arrives to school on time, prepares the space, and is ready to receive students at the designated place and time.
Oversees the arrival and departure of registered students.
Is aware of student allergies and action plans.
Maintains a safe eating environment and follow licensing guidelines including washing tables before and after eating.
Coaches the children in their play/interactions rather than "supervising" and then intervening.
Leads a team which is attentive to the diverse needs of the students.
Communicates regularly with parents and keeps the principal apprised of any concerns. Develops positive relationships with parents.
Represents the school at diocesan-wide events.
Collaborates with the principal regarding budget items.
Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
