    Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA) is the largest pro-life political organization in the country with a nationwide network of more than 1 million Americans. We combine politics with policy, investing heavily in voter education to ensure that pro-life Americans know where their lawmakers stand on protecting the unborn, and in issue advocacy, advancing pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns. The Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) is the education and research arm of SBA Pro-Life America, dedicated to high-level examination of science and statistics that are central to debate over the sanctity of human life.

    SBA is looking for a Communications Director who is excited about using data, studies and findings to share the pro-life story. This role will be a unique opportunity to break the mold, fuse creativity with strategy and have hands-on experience with some of our brightest scientific minds researching the compelling case for life. This position will work alongside subject matter experts for the Charlotte Lozier Institute, communicating with doctors of medicine, biology, statistics and the social sciences on their research and how best to place, promote and portray it in traditional and social media. If you're a storyteller who understands how to take complicated data and synthesize it into digestible news for general audiences, then this role is for you.

    This is a full-time position that reports directly to the VP of Communications.

    Essential Functions:
    This role will direct and carry out all traditional media strategy and broader communications needs for the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI)

    Advise CLI and SBA on how best to incorporate relevant data in other media strategies

    Responsible for increasing the reach and profile of CLI and its spokespersons

    Will build effective content strategies, set clear objectives, get results

    Contribute to and manage CLI's portion of the editorial calendar

    Stay up to date with the latest media methodologies, trends and technologies, including developments in designs, applications, platforms, strategy and innovation

    Bring a unique, creative vision, strong editorial voice, and deep passion for all media platforms (particularly digital), identifying new sources of content as well as formats for storytelling

    Evaluate, conduct after-action on the success of campaigns/content and make changes in strategy accordingly
    Develop creative concepts into long-form and short-form content

    Media train doctors and other scholars as spokespeople

    Read, write and edit communications materials

    Analyze the news and keep up with rapidly shifting online discussions, looking for opportunities to engage

    Opportunity to be a media spokesperson, if interested

    Requirements
    Self-motivating and the ability to focus on both team and individual goals - well versed in managing partnerships, multiple clients

    Comfortable with reading, understanding and breaking down scientific and statistical information

    Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy

    Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Experience in media training

    Able to maintain confidentiality at all times

    Operate in an urgent, timely manner

    Agile, able to orchestrate a variety of projects and initiatives simultaneously

    Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally

    Must be well organized, motivated, and detail-oriented

    Must be pro-life.

    Supervisory Responsibility
    Will directly manage the Digital Comms Associate

    Required Education/Experience
    6-10 years' experience in communications, working with traditional and/or social media

    Experience in media training

    On-air experience a plus

    Experience with live streams for Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. a plus

    Preferred Education/Experience
    Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a related field

    Spanish-language fluency a big plus
