Communications Summer Internship
The Basilica of Saint Mary's Communications Office

Qualifications and Skills:
• Be a college student or college-aged young adult with a high school diploma
• Be a practicing Catholic faithful to the teachings of the Magisterium.
• Be available for internship from mid-May to early August
• Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing circumstances
• Be willing to work nights and some weekend events
• Be able to work independently and with a team
• Be proficient in using common Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word
• Be proficient in designing graphics, especially using Canva
• Be proficient as a photographer, writer and videographer - which will include editing photos, videos and audio
• Virtus-compliant through the Arlington Diocese's Office of Child Protection or willing to become compliant
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute 240 hours over the course of the internship, which will primarily be during the day, with occasional evening events.
• Assist the Basilica of Saint Mary's Director of Communication with various communications-related projects
• Complete various tasks related to communicating to the parish, including updating the website, designing flyers, contributing to a newsletter, recording and editing audio podcasts, taking photos, recording and editing videos.
• Perform special tasks as requested by the rector or other directors.
