The Saint Leo the Great Catholic School (saintleothegreatschool.org) is a ministry of the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, with a current of enrollment of 368 students with additional room to grow. St. Leo the Great School, is in the City of Fairfax and is part of the school system of the Diocese of Arlington serving children Pre-School (ages 3-4) and Kindergarten through grade 8. We are a community lead by the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church committed to the formation of the whole person striving to develop the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical character of each unique student.

We are seeking a practicing Catholic leader, dynamic, faithful to magisterium of the Church, who joyfully embraces the mission of forming committed, dedicated, disciplined and responsible Catholic students in collaboration with parents and faculty. Our principal should embrace the primary role of a Catholic school in the evangelization of our families and the broader culture through the faithfulness, goodness, and beauty of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our principal must be an academic leader well versed in the best and most current educational practices, knowledgeable about the teachings of the Church, willing to assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the school, as well as foster the spiritual and human growth of the staff and faculty. Candidates must demonstrate proven educational, administrative, financial, development and leadership skills. The principal will work under the direction of the Pastor of the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in a collaborative manner open to adapt to and to help craft the vision of the school with great creativity in conjunction with the faculty, staff, families,
and the wider parish community.

A minimum of five years teaching experience in a Catholic school is required. Applicants must have a master's degree in education or educational administration and hold appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision Certificate and Diocesan Religious Certification (or to be eligible to obtain these certifications within three years of hire). The candidate must have a demonstrated capacity for and a proven record of achievement in education administration and school leadership.
