The Basilica School of Saint Mary seeks to fill the following position immediately.
Position HR Classification: 10 months
Supervisor and Direct Report: Director of Learning Support Services
Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM during a regular school day.

Learning Support Services
Director, Learning Support Services
The Resource teacher has a background in special education and works to serve students with learning differences in the regular classroom, modifying the curriculum as needed.
Consult with teachers regarding classroom strategies, accommodations, and alternative assessment methods to meet students' learning needs.
Communicate with parents of students with special needs and provide information regarding resources for students with special needs.
Conduct formal observations of students recommended for referral.
Coordinate the development and implementation of students' Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individualized Services Plan (ISP), Individualized Catholic Education Plan (ICEP), or Student Assistance Plan (SAP).
Work with the Special Education personnel in the public schools to write IEPs/ISPs and coordinate student services.
Participate in child study, IEP/ISP, and eligibility meetings.
Provide direct teaching/co-teaching, selected small group instruction, and individualized education for students with special needs.
Assist in the administration of standardized tests for students with special needs.
Assist with screening new students applying for enrollment.
Review assistive technology that may be necessary to assist students.
Provide staff development in specific disabilities (LD, ADD, Interventions, etc.)
Collaborate with the high school guidance office to assist students with disabilities and determine appropriate institutes of higher learning.
Accept other miscellaneous duties related to a Resource Specialist as defined by the principal.
Bachelor's degree, coursework in education or special education
Stairs, lift 20 lbs, travel between classrooms
