Divine Mercy University (DMU) is seeking a Development Coordinator who will report to the Development Director. He or She will coordinate the ongoing development responsibilities of DMU. These include gift deposits, including analysis and processing of gift batches in Little Green Light, a comprehensive, integrated, relational database system. The Coordinator will also lead the production of gift receipts and individualized acknowledgment letters. In addition, they will engage with lower-level donors in order to identify the best prospects for major and planned gifts. Finally, they will assist the Director of Development in coordinating and organizing donor events and stewardship opportunities in order to increase income in support of DMU's mission.
A. Maintains donor database to ensure all gift information is accurate and up-to-date. Ensures updates to the system and is responsible for keeping current with all system updates and training. Assists staff in running reports to obtain general or specific information to support advancement activities.
B. Manages the acknowledgment process and produces individualized donor acknowledgment letters for all gifts received in a timely and accurate fashion.
C. Maintains calendar of due dates for events, grants, and other Development ideas and tracks their progress and final reports.
D. Audits and confirms the accuracy of donor lists. Provides data to assist in monitoring fundraising activities. Creates new lists as directed to meet fundraising needs. Prepares routine and special queries for reports and event assessments.
E. Engage lower-level donors over the phone and via email to cultivate, steward, and develop relationships to identify future major and planned gift donors.
F. Works closely with Development Director to ensure that donor records are accurate and up-to-date and to ensure uniformity and consistency of data.
G. Researches potential donors and prepares fundraising prospects' profiles. Creates new prospect files and updates and maintains all prospect files.
H. Assists the organization in the roll-out of all special events, committee meetings, etc., and meeting arrangements.
Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising or a related field.
Experience in database management.
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, and database management.
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends to support the organization's special events.
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, judgment, and discretion with confidential information.
Must be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced office and work with multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
