Part time Retail Store Manager
Program: Emergency Assistance
$25.10/hour Parking is included
Primary Office: 125 S. West Street, Alexandria
Hours per Week: 28 hours No more than 2 Saturdays/month.
Core Hours: Tuesday-Friday 9-5
Staff Supervisor: Sherri Longhill, Program Director
Telework Available: Yes (up to 1 day per week after 90 day training)
You will manage all operations and be the face of a popular, thriving thrift shop in the heart of Old Towne Alexandria located at 125 S. West Street, Alexandria, VA.

o You bring your willingness to produce excel sales reports but still help guests who are shopping and donors who are dropping off boxes and bags of housewares and clothing.

Qualifications & Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
o Basic mathematical skills and good communication in English is a business necessity.
o Ability to present a positive professional image.
o Competent in internet research and use of MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Education and Experience:
o High school diploma/GED or equivalent, Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
o 2+ years retail leadership experience or customer service.
o Experience in working with volunteers is a plus.
o Knowledge and experience in thrift store operations is a plus.
• Must be able to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb steep stairs and a ladder; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
• The employee is required to do repetitive lifting of up to 40 pounds using such items as hand trucks, dollies and/or trucks.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to use hands and fingers to use a computer keyboard, cash register and point-of-sale system.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
