Director of Finance

St. Leo the Great Parish in Fairfax, VA, a vibrant parish with more than 3700 registered families, seeking an experienced Director of Finance.
Working closely with the Pastor, Principal, and Parish Finance Council, the Director of Finance is responsible for preparing the parish annual budget; overseeing all accounting and financial functions for church and school; establishing and monitoring internal financial controls; maintaining and updating all computer systems, infrastructure and other equipment/devices; coordinating human resource aspect of parish staff operation; processing bi-weekly payroll, oversees the maintenance of the Parish census, major procurements and all vendor contracts.

The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills. An ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently and to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts is also critical. We require a BS/BA in accounting, business, finance or a closely related field; CPA preferred, but not required; minimum of five years' experience in finance/business management; prior experience with QuickBooks, Excel and database management systems; and a minimum of three years supervisory experience. Must be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic, able to participate in the full sacramental life of the Church.
