Medical Personnel Position

The Skaggs Catholic Center has an immediate opening for a Medical Personnel to serve all entities - Juan Diego Catholic High School, Saint John the Baptist Middle School, Saint John the Baptist Elementary & Guardian Angel Daycare.

Overview: The Medical Personnel is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of all students. This is accomplished by: providing proper emergency care for all people injured or ill at school, performing nursing care procedures, administering medication upon physician's and parent's request, assessing student health records, developing individual care plans and emergency plans for students with medical issues, reviewing immunization records, overseeing vision, hearing and all required screenings, serving as a health education resource to students and staff including classroom teaching on health-related topics. He/She is also the point of contact for the Salt Lake County Health Department.

Necessary Skills: The candidate must possess a broad knowledge of pediatric, public health and adolescent medical care. The applicant should have good communication skills and enjoy working with children, teens, family members, educators and administrators. Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with others.

Qualifications: Current Utah State Registered Nurse Licensure is mandatory. Candidates must hold a degree from accredited school. Nurses with at least two years of experience in pediatrics or acute care settings preferred. Experience with pediatric and adolescent students with diabetes preferred. BLS requirement within 30 days of hire.

Or a current Medical Assistant certification or Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Employment: Full time - 37.5 hours per week, school time hours, 44 weeks / school year. July and school holidays off.
