Job Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all assigned facilities at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Housekeeper coordinates with the Housekeeping Team Leader and Shrine staff to fulfill all assignments. This position has average exposure with the public. The Housekeeper will handle cleaning chemicals with appropriate safety procedures. This is a fairly active position requiring a lot of walking, bending, kneeling and stretching. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays.
Essential Duties • Ensures consistent and adequate levels of restroom supplies. • Responsible for timely, consistent and thorough cleaning of all assigned Shrine facilities. • Launder and iron (as needed) non-liturgical towels and linens. • Trash removal from interior trash receptacles. • Operate and maintain mechanized and manual cleaning equipment. • Prompt and dependable attendance.
Other Duties • Notify Housekeeping Team Leader of any repairs needed to Shrine facilities. • Keeps work areas neat and clean at all times. • Ensures all operational and safety procedures are carefully followed. • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements • Good communication skills and attention to detail. • Friendly and pleasant demeanor with Pilgrims and Shrine staff. • Committed to upholding the mission of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery. • Able to transport up to 45 lbs. • High School diploma (or equivalent) preferred. • Minimum 1 year experience with housekeeping tasks.
