    Description

Bishop Dunne Catholic School: Spanish Teacher

Bishop Dunne Catholic School seeks a Spanish Teacher for the 2023-24 school year. The teacher will be a member of the World Languages department.

    Mission Statement
Bishop Dunne Catholic School empowers each student to explore, inquire, lead, and serve through a college preparatory education in a joyful community of faith.

Bishop Dunne is the only Catholic diocesan school that enrolls students in grades six through twelve. The Bishop Dunne student body mirrors the diversity of Dallas, with over 75% identifying as students of color, and approximately half the students are Catholic.

    General Duties:
The candidate will be a dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching and is able to design daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes, complete grading, maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings, as well as perform all basic administrative duties (ex. maintain attendance records, accurate grade book, comment writing). The goal of our Spanish program is to develop fundamental skills in the four basic areas of language: speaking, understanding, reading, and writing, including an introduction to the culture of the Spanish-speaking world.

We seek educators who see themselves as learners as well as providers of knowledge, which means we want teachers to want to be part of a learning community and collaborate with their peers in each of their responsibilities. The mission of the Catholic school is to "Teach as Jesus did," thereby mandating teachers in our schools to be reflections of Christ's love and concern.

    Education/Experience Required:

    • A valid Texas teaching certificate for grades 7-12 or a minimum of 12 hours of appropriate courses in education
