Computer Science Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in computer science OR a degree and 24 credit hours in content area to be taught or Information Processing Technology endorsement or successful completion of appropriate state certification exam
2. 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, appropriate state certificate

• Knowledgeable and supportive in word and action of the school's mission, vision and educational philosophy
• Implement mission of the school through witness
• Represent the school in a positive way on and off the school campus

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate expertise in area of teaching technology
• Maintain student achievement records
• Conduct parent conferences as scheduled and/or requested; maintain open communication with parents
• Attend meetings as scheduled
• Maintain classroom environment in such a way that is conducive to learning
• Instructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of technology equipment
• Demonstrate competence in lesson planning and execution of lessons
• Secure appropriate permission for educational activities
• Submit all external communications to the administration for approval prior to distribution
• Make appropriate provisions for substitute teachers when necessary
• Complete required school forms promptly
