Guidance Counselor

Frassati Catholic High School seeks a part-time Guidance Counselor for the 2023-2024 school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works with Dean of Academics on academic and educational planning as requested
• Assists with the Academic Support Program
• Provides the opportunity for faculty and staff to discuss any issues involving a student.
• Provides for assistance as needed toward improved course achievement
• Assists teachers as appropriate toward maximizing student performance
• Works with the Dean of Academics in the course registration process, including the advisement of students and the review of courses in the projected class schedule.
• Provides the opportunity for students/parents to discuss any issues within the school or home that may affect the educational process for the student.
• Conducts personal and crisis counseling for students as needed
• Attends school social events as needed
• Manages counseling programs for student support, i.e., therapy dogs, lunch group meetings with students

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree in Counseling
OR
• Master's degree in psychology or social work with courses included or added that address theories and methods in counseling, psychology of adolescence, career information and development, multicultural counseling, as well as vocational, academic and career testing.
• Knowledgeable and supportive in word and action of the school's mission, vision and educational philosophy
• Implement mission of the school through witness
• Represent the school in a positive way on and off the school campus
