    Facilities Manager
    Department: Facilities
    FLSA Classification:Exempt
    Employee Type: FT/12-mo
    Reports To:Paul Beck, President or Director of Finance and HR

    The Job:
    The Cristo Rey Jesuit ("CRJ") Facilities Manager ("Manager") is a campus-based position that plays a vital role in overseeing the functioning of all school facility systems and buildings, including structural, building repairs and maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, school grounds maintenance and waste management. The Manager helps to create a budget for each year and monitors spending against that budget. The Manager approves all facilities contracts and monitors usage, either directly or indirectly via a delegated CRJ individual. Additionally, the Manager oversees contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. The Manager is also responsible for managing construction/renovation projects and coordinating facilities set up for special events.
    Purpose: As a member of the Cristo Rey Jesuit Facilities Department, the Manager seeks ways to conduct oneself in a professional manner through actions and communications with others. He/she interacts in a positive and caring way with students, parents, outside contacts and staff by taking an active professional position in celebrating and upholding the Catholic and Jesuit identity of Cristo Rey Jesuit.
    Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:
    Reports to and meets regularly with the President or Director of Finance & HR of CRJ and keeps him/her constantly informed of important issues related to responsibilities outlined herein.
    Communicates directly with staff and vendors to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
    Coordinates responses to all facility work orders originating from building users, using established processes
    Implements programs and procedures required to ensure CRJ cleanliness and safety.
    Oversees regular cleaning of school and manages any staff or contracted cleaning services.
    Ensures that Facilities Staff are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
    Coordinates on-site special events/facilities activities with all departments.
    Collaborates with program and staff leadership, to understand special needs and maintain quality of support to the mission (e.g. academic leaders, food service, athletics, technology, security). Provides facilities support for campus events (e.g., setups and takedowns)
    Organizes schedules and supervises all repair and construction projects, with sensitivity to school seasonality and operational need
    Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including work safety regulations.
    Monitors operation of School equipment and systems and supervises equipment repair.
    Tracks and manages inspection and permits of all equipment and facilities. Assists in Fire and Safety inspections with the Associate Director of Operations.
    Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
    Selects third-party maintenance contractors, determines scope of work, and manages the fulfillment of their contract obligations, including quality control of their work
    Hires, schedules, and supervises all building and school maintenance staff at the school. Responsible for department personnel management, salary administration, training, and development discipline. Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the Facilities Staff.
    Maintains a tracking system for all requested school maintenance orders (i.e, Help Desk) from faculty and staff that updates them on the status of their request and when it has been completed.
    Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
    Participates constructively in the strategic development and management of the campus (e.g., Master Plan, zoning compliance, utilities services, energy management)
    Leads and collaborates the acquisition of capital budget items from sections to installation and operations
    Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
    Creates annual operating budget and capital budget for School under, and controls facilities expenditures. Manages budget and reports
    Communicates and meets with the Board of Trustees Building and Grounds Committee Chair and keeps him/her apprised of all major activities as well as current status vs. the budget.

    Job Duties: Include, but are not limited to:
    Agrees to act in a manner as outlined in the mission, objectives, and policies of the school as articulated in the Employee Handbook.
    Agrees to participate in administrative meetings, Communities, student supervision, record-keeping and reporting, parent-teacher relations, and other duties as assigned.
    Agrees to participate in major school events including but not limited to the Mass of the Holy Spirit, Back to School Event, Open House, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduation.
    Agrees to respect and help form the spiritual values of the students and to support the Jesuit, Catholic identity of the school by exemplifying in his/her own actions the characteristics of Christian living, being a leader of prayer, and supporting the liturgical and spiritual life of the school.
    Agrees to participate in the faculty and staff formation in Ignatian Spirituality, Ignatian Pedagogy, and Jesuit education.
    Agrees to support and promote the success of the Corporate Work-Study Program.
    Agrees to actively implement the Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook when applicable.
    Agrees to undergo a School-initiated initial and 3-year criminal background check, to complete required trainings, including but not limited to, an Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic Mutual Group Safe Haven online training seminar on child abuse and mandatory reporting, and to repeat their Safe Haven online training every 5 years.
    Agrees to accept any special assignment that, from time to time, may be required for the efficient operation of the school, as assigned by the President.
    agrees to maintain the ability to work with several 'supervisors' while multi-tasking several projects at the same time
    Agrees to be adept at building rapport and trust with people from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including underrepresented urban youth and first-generation college students.
    Will have a commitment to the institution's needs and readiness to respond 24/7/365 as reasonable and necessary

    Qualifications:
    College or trade school degree or equivalent experience required. With proven personnel management skills and contractor management experience, with aptitude to judge quality of performance in all major technical trades and personal experience in at least one technical trade (carpentry, mechanical, electrical, structural)
    Ability to communicate proficiently with all constituents in a school environment in both English and Spanish.
    Have excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Google Docs, Drive, and Gmail
    Ability to use basic office equipment (copy machine, scanner, fax machine, etc.)
    A minimum of 2 years in Facility Maintenance Management with comparable experience.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
    Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more
    Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn and reach in completing a variety of job duties
    Able to work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time
    Able to work in wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school
    Able to operate vehicles and machines
