Job Summary:
The Maintenance Specialist assists in maintaining cleanliness and operating condition of all school and parish buildings and equipment. This position requires knowledge to complete simple repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating, and cooling. A mechanical aptitude is a must. The Maintenance Specialist is expected to follow direction, be a self-starter, and require minimum supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Essential Job Duties:
Maintain, repair, clean, and service all equipment, fixtures, buildings, and properties.
Occasionally set up rooms for events in the parish activity center.
Assist with seasonal decorations in church and parish activity center.
Assist with keeping the parish grounds clean (picking up debris, pressure washing, maintaining floor mats, and other cleaning tasks).
Must be able to lift 80 pounds and be comfortable climbing ladders (up to 30 feet) and operating common hand and power tools.
Assist in maintaining a secure campus during the school day.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the structure and basic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Skill in verbal and non-verbal communication.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and work effectively with staff, clergy, school staff, students, religious and laity.
Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and utilize effective time management techniqu

Ability to proficiently communicate in English (conversing, reading, and writing).
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Training:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' general maintenance experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Texas driver's license
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
