Catholic Charities Fort Worth (CCFW) is a learning organization that believes every person should have the opportunity to live their best life, free from poverty. Founded in 1910, CCFW works every day to make this vision a reality, serving tens of thousands of people in North Texas, and across the nation, each year. CCFW is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and reflects these values through our client-centered approach and commitment to ensuring our practices meaningfully impact the lives of those we serve. We strategically challenge the way poverty is addressed nationwide by creating solutions to meet the evolving needs of our community, eradicating the barriers keeping people in poverty, and transforming the narrative around poverty through advocacy and collaboration.
CCFW's mission is to provide service to those in need, to advocate compassion and justice in the structures of society, and to call all people of goodwill to do the same. CCFW has a 2022 operating budget of $21.7M and a $13M endowment.
CCFW's President/CEO leads the agency to carry out its mission, vision, values and strategic plan in accord with Catholic social and moral teaching as elucidated by the Bishop of Fort Worth. The President/CEO's overarching focus is to position CCFW to end poverty, one family at a time.
Specifically, the CEO will:
Provide a Visionary Outlook. The CEO is always looking ahead and sees problems before others do. They live by the importance of solving for tomorrow, today and don't settle for the status quo. They are unafraid to say "no" to one thing in order to say "yes" to something better. They:
Demonstrate a progressive, forward-thinking, visionary attitude about the growth and potential of CCFW's mission and work.
Generate and monitor the implementation of a strategic plan for the agency.
Bring Steady and Seasoned leadership. The CEO will have led a large organization, with the budget and staff that comes with it. The CEO builds trust with the COO, Senior Leadership Team, and CCFW staff through humility, vulnerability, and listening. They are ready to leverage experience to amplify CCFW's poverty-ending work. They:
Provide professional and skilled leadership for CCFW and working effectively with the COO and Senior Leadership Team.
Ensure a culture where those involved in the organization feel engaged and a part of the mission.
Work in collaboration with the Board of Directors; this position reports directly to the Board.
Serve as the face of CCFW to the public.
Demonstrate Unwavering Commitment to the Mission. The CEO knows that ending poverty is possible; the work is to figure out how to get there. They believe that research and evaluation is key to improving and finding what works for the good of the people we serve. The CEO has a strong personal faith and doesn't compromise Catholic values for a quick win. Everything they lead the agency to do ties back to our goal to end poverty. They ultimately uphold CCFW's mission, vision, values, and service philosophy in all aspects of the agency.
Authentically Connect with People for Partnerships and Fundraising. The CEO understands how important relationships are to sustainable fundraising and show it by deeply and thoughtfully cultivating VIP donors. They:
Exercise collaborative efforts with the Diocese of Fort Worth, parishes and other churches, other social service organizations, companies, institutions, and officials to develop and expand services that benefit our clients and the community.
Develop and preserve relationships with foundations, trusts, companies, organizations, and individuals who could become donors or funding sources. Work in collaboration with the Advancement division and Board of Directors to raise the funds necessary to do the work.
