2nd Grade Homeroom Teacher

St. Gabriel's Catholic School is seeking a 2nd Grade Homeroom Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. SGCS is a co-educational Catholic school serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade in Austin, Texas. The Lower School houses PreK3 - 4th grade and the Middle School houses grades 5-8. SGCS provides an engaging and challenging curriculum that successfully prepares our graduates for their high school of choice.
Lower school homeroom teachers must possess a love for children in all their developmental stages, the ability to work well on a team, excellent oral and written communication skills with both colleagues and the community, and be motivated life-long learners. The ideal candidate, therefore, is a dynamic person who has at least three years of teaching experience at the elementary level, has demonstrated a passion for lower school students and for innovative teaching, and is experienced in social emotional learning, project based learning, STEM instruction, technology-rich and differentiated instruction. Additionally, experience with readers and writers workshops is desired. SGCS is a 1:1 iPad school, thus teachers are expected to demonstrate meaningful skill with technology in order to create authentic learning experiences for their students.
