The Events and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for meeting established fundraising goals through the successful planning, coordination, and execution of assigned fundraising events. This role provides volunteer coordination and is expected to complete local parish, business, and community outreach efforts throughout the year to aid in the awareness and support of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee's (CCETN) programs. The Events and Outreach Coordinator reports to the Development Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
SCHEDULE: 35 hours/week | Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:
* Achieve assigned fundraising goals through successful coordination and execution CCETN-hosted fundraising events, including:
- Solicitation of event sponsors and ensuring all relevant benefits are realized
- Achieve event attendance goals
- Successful negotiation of contracts and vendor agreements
- Secure in-kind vendor partners
- Keep cohesive and detailed event management records
- Track expenses and stay within budgetary guidelines
* Responsible for organizing and overseeing a wide range of events, including but not limited to:
- Top Donor Events in Chattanooga, Tri-Cities, and program-hosted dinner/dance
- Annual Dinner Gala - Knoxville
- Race for Kids Knoxville and Chattanooga
* Serve as the local point of contact for any area third-party fundraising activities including, but not limited to:
- St. Patrick's Day - Knoxville
- Parade of Homes point of contact - Knoxville
- Cinco de Mayo - Sacred Heart Cathedral
- Mother's Day Tea
- Concert - St. Dominic
* Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet or exceed budgeted fundraising goals, ensuring sustainable revenue growth for the organization
* Successfully advance fundraising goals by utilizing talents and abilities of volunteer base through effective recruitment, coordination, and management
* Coordinate and manage activities of Parish Captains and Event and Advocacy Committee (EAC)
* Participate in community, business, media and parish outreach and networking opportunities as a representative of CCETN outreach and networking opportunities as a representative of CCETN
* Develop and implement a volunteer program that aligns with CCETN mission and goals
* Recruit and assign volunteers to appropriate roles based on skills, interests, and availability
* Ensure all volunteers complete pre-service requirements
* Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and accomplishments
* Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program
Job Requirements
* Must be able to move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
* Must hold a valid driver license and provide proof of auto insurance coverage
* Must be willing to travel if required
* Must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
* Must be able to successfully pass a background check
* Must maintain any training and certification requirements
* Must support the teachings of the Catholic Church and embody our organization's mission and culture through behavior and daily interactions
* Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
* Experience in special events planning and promotion
* Proven track record of successfully achieving or exceeding fundraising goals in previous roles, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage and solicit donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively collaborate and build positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups
* Strong speaker and professional communicator, both within group and individual settings
* Previous experience with fundraising and knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies
* Positive attitude with determination, humility, and compassion
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Creative self-starter with ability to work independently as well as thrive as a volunteer team leader
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge a plus
