7th Grade English Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is seeking a full-time English Language Arts/Social Studies teacher for 7th Grade for the 2022-2023 school year. Founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is a Catholic Independent academy for preschool to eighth-grade students. Committed to a strong academic program, Norwood-Fontbonne Academy offers both Montessori and creative interactive education enriched by service learning, outreach, and co-curricular experiences.

The teacher for this position should be committed to implementing developmentally-appropriate instruction aligned to 21st-century learning standards and principles associated with advancing adolescent literacy. The teacher must have demonstrated skills in understanding pre-adolescents and creating an environment that fosters student growth through a rigorous, engaging, and challenging curriculum. Candidates should have an understanding of unit planning, collaborating with a team, and demonstrating skill in the use of technology as a tool in the classroom.

Requirements:
BS/Certification in English or Social Studies. Masters preferred.
3 years of teaching experience
Skilled use of Google Suite
Skilled use of educational technology
Demonstrated commitment to embracing Catholic education, specifically the mission of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy and the Sisters of St. Joseph
