Requirements: - Must be a practicing Catholic and willing to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. - Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, classroom management, and conflict resolution. - Experience teaching in a classical education is not required but would be ideal. - Clean background check to work with minors. - A bachelor's or master's degree in History, Literature, or a related Humanities field is required.
Qualifications: - The ideal candidate would be able to teach some combination of history, Latin, literature, theology or philosophy. - Demonstrate Latin proficiency by applying for that position. - Experience in and passion for Catholic classical education is a bonus. - Must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise. - The ideal candidate will have an understanding and appreciation of an integrated curriculum which allows for the connection between the humanities and the arts/sciences. - Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education.
Responsibilities: - In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. - Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.
