This full-time benefited position provides dental hygiene care for the Dental Care program. The position will communicate the mission of the program, set and reach departmental goals, and under the general supervision of a qualified dentist in an ambulatory care setting, assess patient needs, plan and deliver direct dental hygiene care and associated services to patients as is allowed under licensure.
The Dental Care program is called to provide excellent, comprehensive dental care in a kind, compassionate setting to low-income patients in Eastern Oklahoma, to eliminate pain and improve overall health.

Skills and Abilities
Patience when assisting the population served Clear oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently as well as with a team Considerable knowledge of dental terminology and charting practices Considerable knowledge of the principles of dental health promotion and prevention Working knowledge of Federal and OSHA regulations for dental clinics Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of Dentrix software and digital x-rays Ability to work independently as well as with a team Ability to handle stressful situations Provides quality patient care to patients of all types and backgrounds without discrimination Respects and maintains confidentiality Is culturally sensitive to the needs of the medically indigent Responds to patient needs Ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinic environment and to handle multiple demands and responsibilities
Community Outreach
Willing to provide education and outreach in the community Represent program at occasional community meetings Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Proficiency in Spanish and fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking) preferred Ability to lead teams and work in context with the larger organization as a whole Strong interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize multiple projects and ensure all deadlines are met
Working Conditions
