Qualifications: College degree with valid Oklahoma teacher certification
Reports to: RISE Director and School Administration
This position will work with students and teachers in Kindergarten - 5th grade with the primary focus of supporting 4th and 5th-grades. This would include small groups, push-in to class during reading and/or math, and assisting teachers within the classroom.
Job Responsibilities: Uphold and commit to the Teachings of the Catholic Church Communicate effectively with teachers and parents on student progress, challenges, and behavior Coordinate schedules for the Elementary Resource Room Meet with 4th and 5th-grade teachers to develop a daily schedule for working with students Support K-5 students as needed, offering individual assistance and accommodations to help meet student needs Monitor students during recess, lunch, and other non-classroom activities Continue professional development Participate on committees Attend meetings scheduled throughout the year as needed Assume responsibilities outside the classroom as designated by contract and handbooks
Instructional Support Provide support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce classroom instruction in reading, math, and other curricular areas. Review lessons with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups Develop and implement lesson plans for students seen regularly in the resource room Provide support for students who require special accommodations and need additional help in understanding lessons or completing assignments Offer in class support for teachers and students during specified subjects to circulate and help as needed Help oversee tests and quizzes as needed for students in the resource room Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt materials and instruction to meet diverse learning needs Help prepare classroom instructional materials and supplemental learning aids Monitor and guide students during computer-based reading program Help with tracking student progress Provide positive reinforcement and feedback to students about their work
