    Bishop McGuinness High School is a coeducational college preparatory institution of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, providing a Catholic secondary education for students in grades 9-12. As an extension of the family, the school community is dedicated to the development of the whole person. Faith and values are integrated into all aspects of learning, living and service to others to stimulate students' spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical growth.

    All members of the Bishop McGuinness family are invited to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Students, faculty, and staff are called upon to be a Christ-centered community that passionately serves others with integrity and experiences Christ in the Catholic tradition. By studying both secular and religious matters, the school community applies knowledge toward a deeper acceptance of holiness from God, in accordance with the doctrines and structures of the Catholic Church.

    Originally opened in 1950 as Central Catholic High School, it was renamed Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, in honor of the school's founder in 1959.

    This fall, Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School welcomed over 735 students, the largest enrollment to date.

    The school recently launched a $6 million campaign to address the needs of its growing school and provide support for Catholic families hoping to secure Catholic education for their children. A new addition to the campus is planned that will provide six new classrooms, restrooms, and space for the growing advancement department.

    Academics is the essential core of a Bishop McGuinness education, and over the past 75 years the school has provided superior secondary education in the greater Oklahoma City area. The structured course of study helps students grow in their faith, clarify personal goals, and provides 21st century skills necessary to pursue future endeavors successfully. An individual course of study is developed for each student based on God-given talents, academic policy of the school and guidance from the school's professional staff. It is the intent of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School to provide the best possible four-year academic plan with respect to individual abilities, prospects for greatest possible growth, and options open for post-secondary opportunities. All students are offered a wide variety of electives in visual and performing arts, practical studies, STEM, and other fields.

    Bishop McGuinness educates the whole person by offering numerous extracurricular, athletic, and spiritual- development opportunities. Extracurricular activities add to the enjoyment of school life and permit development of broader insights and experiences in the academic, cultural, athletic, and social areas. There are a diverse group of clubs and organizations that students can join, allowing students to find new interests, grow as leaders, develop fellowship with their classmates and continue to find their place in the Irish community. These include the Academic Team, Ambassadors, CAMINO, Economics Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Fine Arts Club, Irish Steel Robotics, Junior Classical League, among many others.

    The athletic program at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School maintains membership in the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association offering 14 teams that have won an impressive 103 state championships. The mascot for Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School is the "Fighting Irish."

    As a Catholic community of faith, Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School is dedicated to educating and developing the whole person, providing a moral, ethical and Christ centered compass for life. The teachings of the Church permeate the school's spiritual, academic, and social life, forming a "Person for Others." During its history, the school has been recognized with a Top 50 award for America's Best Catholic High Schools and noted as the 11th best high school athletic program in the country by Sports Illustrated. In 2019, the school received the Values Driven Award of Excellence by Cognia.

    The President will serve as the chief executive officer of the school and is responsible for the operational vitality for the school, including advancement, enrollment, marketing, finances, and capital projects. The President leads and articulates the school's mission and vision, creates and implements strategic plans, and builds and nurtures constituent and stakeholder relationships on and off campus. The President also bears ultimate responsibility for the school's Catholic identity and is supported by a leadership team in carrying out these responsibilities.

    Additionally, the President will work with a newly formed Board of Trustees.

    Applicants must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church who have demonstrated their commitment to servant leadership. He or she reports to and is evaluated by the Senior Director of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. Preferred candidates will have an advanced degree and/or equivalent work experience and a track record of building community and serving others.
