The Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Organist.
The newly constructed shrine located in Oklahoma City will welcome people from across the country and beyond to visit the final resting place of Blessed Stanley Rother, the first recognized Catholic martyr from the United States. The space will include an Allen Organ GX-350 in the church and a Viscount Sonus 245 in the chapel. Schoenstein and Co. has been selected to build a pipe organ for the shrine pending a successful fundraiser.
The Director of Music and Organist will collaborate with clergy and other ministry leaders to administer a multifaceted liturgy and music program by connecting with the various forms and styles of the parish choir and musicians to inspire a blend of cultural and traditional repertoires. The director will oversee all music and provide organ accompaniment for English and Spanish weekend Masses, holy days, school Masses, special liturgies, and archdiocesan events hosted at the shrine.
Qualifications include a degree or equivalent certification in music or similar area of study, experience in organ performance and choral direction in a Catholic liturgical setting, an understanding of GIRM and the rubrics of the Roman Missal, and fluency in English and Spanish.
The starting salary range is $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with education and experience. The position comes with generous retirement and insurance benefits, with many of the plans, including health and dental, at no cost to the employee.
