This selected candidate is responsible for the Faith Formation and Religious Education programing for children Pre-K through 8th grade, teens, adults and families. The selected candidate will promote the engagement of parents, families and persons of all ages in the life of the parish. The Pastoral Minister of Faith Formation will foster a relationship with Jesus and active discipleship for our children, teens and adults.
Primary Responsibilities:
• oversee the established Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program
• direct sacramental preparation for Baptism through Confirmation
• lead the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program
• promote programs for lifelong faith formation and the engagement of parents and young adults in the life of the parish
• work independently as well as collaboratively with other pastoral staff in a team-focused environment
• perform duties as assigned by the pastor
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is actively participating in the Catholic faith and holds a teaching license or equivalent in grades Pre-K-8, Theology or a related educational field and/or a certificate in ministry or theology. The candidate has knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic Sacraments, and Catholic rites and liturgies. The candidate demonstrates professional verbal and written communication skills.
This position is full time. The position involves working on evenings and sometimes on weekends, allowing flex-time hours.
