Walsh University is accepting applications for a tenure-eligible faculty appointment in Sociology/Criminal Justice with rank commensurate with experience.
The faculty member will be instrumental in teaching and advancing the mission and vision of Walsh University and our undergraduate programs in Sociology in the School of Behavioral & Health Sciences. The faculty member will report directly to the Chair of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Candidates are expected to hold a PhD in Sociology with graduate level coursework in Criminology by the time of appointment; ABD candidates will be considered. Applicants with experience teaching foundational courses in sociology, criminal justice, criminology, and related courses are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mastery of educational technology with experience teaching online courses preferred. Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, student advising and University service. The teaching load is four courses per semester.
Minimum Requirements:
PhD in Sociology with graduate level coursework in Criminology by the time of appointment.
Teaching experience, including multiple modes of delivery
Record of scholarly activities and production or demonstrated ability to produce scholarship
Effective communication and organizational skills
An ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students within the program and across the Institution
