St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, Ohio is seeking a qualified Coordinator of Religious Education beginning August 2022. We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding and passion for their Catholic faith. The CRE works with the Pastor to oversee and direct all elements of the religious formation and sacramental preparation in the parish school and parish religious education program. This person ensures that parents are learning alongside their children and that policies and procedures are implemented and followed. This position would require 30 hours minimum per week with some weekend hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruiting, training and supervision of Catechists
• Religious education of children and youth from Kindergarten Plus through 12th grade
• Adults thru the RCIA program
• Sacramental Preparation from Baptism thru Confirmation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• FBI/BCI Background check (completed prior to the start of the job)
• Must model the behaviors and precepts of the Catholic Church
• Experience as a Catechist or as a Coordinator/Director of Religious Education or
Catechetical Degree

SALARY and BENEFITS
Salary dependent on education and experience. Benefits include Health Insurance, Pension with matching contributions and other retirement plans such as 403b and Roth IRAs available.
