Overview
The Engineering Assistant's main responsibility is to assist the Chief Engineer.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electronics; Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Electronics or Computer Science is preferred
Minimum 6 years of experience in broadcast engineering
Electro/mechanical skills in the use of small hand tools such as saws, drills, soldering irons
Ability to install, operate, and repair various test equipment and a wide range of audio control equipment
Ability to use, but not limited to, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DVM, Power and reflected power meters, phase monitors, and multiple PC based test systems.
Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing 50-100 pounds.

Duties:
Assist with transmitter logs by filing log information from contract Engineers, taking transmitter log readings as needing, and reporting any discrepancies in logs or transmitter readings to the Chief Engineer.
Monitor and file EAS logs and readings. Notify Chief Engineer of EAS receiver issues and receive or transmit test issues.
Assist with connectivity to transmitter sites and remote broadcast activities.
Assist with Automation computer issues such as audio and Simian issues.
Assist Advancement Team with Live broadcast equipment and test remote sites as needed for broadcasts.
Set up, maintain, and operate PA and Video system for Banquets and Live events as needed.
On call 1-2 weekends per month. Must be readily available to deal with silence calls and work with contract Engineers to resolve off air issues timely. Report all off air issues to Chief Engineer.
