Christ the King Catholic High School
Established in 2011 and located on a 100+ acre campus, Christ the King Catholic High School (CTK) provides a rigorous academic, co-educational, college preparatory program in a nurturing environment that celebrates every student for their God-given potential. At CTK, faculty and staff emphasize the learning process to appreciate good questions, if not more than a prescribed answer. The mission of Christ the King Catholic High School is to believe sincerely, think critically, act responsibly, and serve others in the name of Christ the King. The formative educational process aims at preparing students to be effective disciples in the world on the pathway to ultimate salvation.
"Faith and reason," wrote Saint Pope John Paul II, "are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth." Subsequently, Fides et Ratio has become the school's foundational educational document. Graduates of CTK are marked by these wings and distinguish themselves as masters of the "tools of learning." CTK forms students in the true, the good, and the beautiful so that they can become active disciples in this world and citizens of heaven.
This young school has experienced consistent growth and currently serves nearly 400 coed 9th-12th grade students in a modified block schedule. Students must take seven courses and complete nine service hours each two-semester school year. Over 50 dedicated faculty and staff support CTK students, with over 50% holding advanced degrees. With a student/staff ratio of 8:1, class sizes are small and manageable.
Since 2019, the school has produced three National Merit semifinalists, two National Merit Commended Scholars, five ROTC Scholarship Recipients, two Team State Championships, three Individual State Championships, and 61 Presidential Service Awards, just to name a few. As a testament to CTK's success and broad diocesan, local community, and stakeholder support, the Grounded in Faith, Building our Future Capital Campaign raised over $6.6M (which includes diocesan support) for campus-wide improvements scheduled for completion this school year. The campaign leadership group is responsible for $2.6M in donations. In addition, the school's advisory board has raised over $1M for projects related to the school's vision and growth over the recent years. It is noteworthy that the school's educational footprint has tripled in under six years.

Encountering the living God is at the heart of true and meaningful Catholic education in the Diocese of Charlotte. The Diocesan and school communities seek enthusiastic practicing Catholics in communion with the Church who embrace, model, and champion Catholic education's traditions and values while serving as Christ-centered servant leaders. Diocesan Principals serve as their school's spiritual and educational leaders and are responsible for exercising independent judgment in implementing a broad array of programs and functions. As chief academic officers, all teaching and learning personnel report to the Principal. In fulfilling this role, the Principal is directly responsible to the School President and the Diocesan Superintendent, Dr. Greg Monroe.
As the primary leader of the school's academic program, the Principal needs to be an experienced educational leader with a deep understanding and appreciation for the challenges high school students-and their families-are facing today.
