Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions: • Complete general secretarial duties and maintain files for the Pastor and the Parochial Vicar. • Receive phone calls, schedule appointments, and process documents, letters, and memos for the Pastor and the Parochial Vicar. • Serve as a representative with parishioners and others visiting or calling the parish. • Schedule and prepare all marriage files and send to the Diocese. • Meet with families to schedule funerals and complete necessary paperwork. • Help prepare special liturgical events and complete any necessary paperwork. • Assist the parish receptionist with phone coverage throughout the day and cover the front desk as needed. • Translate documents for all departments from English to Spanish. • Attend weekly staff meetings. • Maintain confidentiality regarding all parish matters. • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Pastor.
Minimum Requirements: 1. Office experience of at least 2 years. 2. Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written. 3. Ability to function in a parish environment. 4. Strong Google Calendar management skills. 5. Strong organizational skills - multiple tasks. 6. Skilled use of MS Word, Excel, Publisher. 7. Capacity to develop competency with ACS/Raisers Edge(church database). 8. Able to maintain confidentially and maintain professionalism. 9. Team oriented - ability to work toward parish and staff goals. 10. Responsive to parish and parishioner needs.
Preferred Qualifications • Area of related work experience: Catholic parish, school, or non profit organization. • 5+ years of related work experience. • Strong verbal communication skills.
