The Music Teacher will be part of the academy's special subject faculty and report to the academy principal.

The candidate needs to: 1. Be a practicing Roman Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education 2. Have a Bachelor's Degree or higher 3. Hold a valid New York State Certification or be willing to work towards it.
Core Roles/Responsibilities: The Music Teacher will instruct students in grades 3K-8 at Bay Ridge Catholic Academy. In this role they will:
Works closely with the school principal to set, nurture and meet high expectations in terms of school culture, professionalism, cultural responsiveness and instruction Ensures high quality implementation of Music Instruction Instruct each homeroom 1x a week Evaluate students and provide grades/feedback for progress reports and report cards Provide music for academy liturgies Musically direct academy musical Organize and perform with academy choir Works with the academy principal to plan liturgies and school programs which require music Submit weekly lesson plans Communicate effectively with staff at Bay Ridge Catholic Academy Other duties as assigned
